| Improper
installation of masonry block walls such as this is an all too
common problem on new home construction jobsites.
Once
the stucco siding is installed over open masonry cracks, water
from driving rain and condensation will continue to enter the
home -- unseen by the new home owner until carpeting and
drywall begins to stain and hold moisture.
The
Home Builder on this particular project refused to correct the
problem after multiple requests from the new home owner (as
well as other defects), and was eventually terminated by the
owner.
These
photos were taken by a Guardian home inspector during an
inspection of a new home under construction.
