Roof
Leakage at
Valley Eaves
Minor roof leaks can become more expensive to repair if left unattended.
Always check eave areas for signs of leakage.
Beneath the shingles that have caved-in, the
wooden roof sheathing (decking) and framing members have rotted due to a wood destroying fungus
(wood rot) that grows in and quickly decays the wood. If this
underlying water damaged wood is not
completely removed and replaced, termites and other wood destroying
insects will zero in on this area as a source of food or to nest. The result is
a potentially expensive repair due the fact that structural components may need
replacement.
