Cracking
in Foundation Slab
Slab cracking is always cause for
concern for homeowners and prospective buyers. In addition to unstable and corrosive soil conditions, improper concrete
mix, and seismic activity, the natural forces of wind, water, gravity, and large trees
planted too close to a structure can be equally destructive.
Cracks in driveways, walkways, patios and slabs should
always be repaired by a masonry contractor after the source of the damage has been
properly identified and corrected.
The slab crack shown in the photo above
traveled completely through the foundation to the outside of the
structure.
