Pan Leakage
Tiled
shower pans like the one shown in the photo above are susceptible
to water leakage due
to normal wear, settlement, and cleaning chemicals that damage the
grout seams between the tiles.

shown in the photo above. Water seeps into adjoining rooms, causing damage
to carpeting, furniture and to the wood framing inside
the walls. |
Shower
pan leaks are an expensive repair item that can be entirely
prevented with normal routine maintenance of damaged grouting
between the tiles. If neglected, wood decaying fungus
will rot wooden framing elements inside the wall, which often
acts as a "dinner bell" for wood destroying insects
such as termites and carpenter ants.
